Biography
Aura McKay is an active participant in the Vancouver photography community. She currently teaches at Vancouver Institute of Media Arts and Vancouver Photo Workshops and has been involved in program and curriculum development with both institutions.
A member of PPOC and on the Executive Committee for the PPABC, Aura specializes in photographing creative weddings, unique intimate portraiture, and fine art alternative process images.
Aura’s enthusiasm and passion for photography are matched by her technical knowledge and skilled presentation skills. She is committed to sharing her knowledge while presenting at seminars, lecturing to university and photography clubs, appearing on Breakfast Television and doing product demonstrations for Sony. Her background in business, accounting and marketing is a solid foundation for facilitating emerging professionals in building their businesses.
Expedia, Bermuda Tourism, World Natural Sports Organization, Marriott Pinnacle, Sofa So Good, North Star Properties and CheckUp Magazine are examples of the diversity of Aura’s client list. In addition to continually pursuing challenging assignments, Aura is an avid and lifelong learner, studying with Tony Corbell, Ralph Gibson, Carlan Tapp, Gregory Heisler, Arthur Meyerson, Bambi Cantrell, Jerry Ghionis and Mary Ellen Mark among others.
