Biography

Adam Gibbs

Biography
I took up photography quite by accident. I spent most of my time rock climbing and mountaineering. To make ends meet I worked in outdoor retail stores and as a climbing instructor, fun times.

A couple of paragliding accidents later and the prospect of marriage brought about a career change. I took up photography with the intention of working in a studio however, one week in the studio was enough to realise that it was not for me. The patterns, colours and textures that nature provides are what drive my interest in photography. I have spent most of my time in gardens, in the forests and mountains in seeking out my subjects of nature. Although, I still wander around gardens, the forest and mountians, my photography takes me to new places. Most recently I was in Alaska with the Brown Bears and this past winter the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica with the Penguins. I am looking forward to where my next adventure will take me.
I have been a regular contributor to the Gardens West family of magazines since 1993. I currently have four sole calendars published by Wyman and continue to have images published nationally and internationally.
